Alessandro Farinelli – Università di Verona, Italy – is full professor of Computer Science at the University of Verona since December 2019. His research interests focus on developing novel Artificial Intelligence methodologies applied to robotics and cyber-physical systems. In particular, he works on multi-agent coordination, decentralized optimization, reinforcement learning and data analysis for cyber-physical systems. His main scientific achievements are rooted in the development of highly innovative approaches for coordination of intelligent agents. In the last five years, he focused on the development of innovative approaches for Reinforcement Learning (and particularly Deep RL) applied to mobile robots, as well as the design of novel approaches for situation awareness and anomaly detection in Intelligent Systems (including mobile robots and cyber-physical systems). He participated in several national and international research projects in the broad area of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. In particular, he has been WP leader (WP4, Smart robotic boats for water quality monitoring) and technical director for the INTCATCH project (H2020, WATER-1-2014/2015, June 2016 — January 2020, http://intcatch.eu/).

Salvatore M. Anzalone – Université Paris 8, France – Salvatore Anzalone is Maître de Conferences at Paris 8 University in Saint Denis, France and member of the Equipe Technologies, Handicaps, Interfaces, Multimodalité (THIM) at the Human and Artificial Cognition Laboratory (CHArt, EA4004). His fields of expertise cover social robotics, multimodal interaction, social signal processing, social learning and robotics for socio-cognitive and neurodevelopmental diseases. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Palermo (2010). He collaborates since then with the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory directed by Prof. H. Ishiguro, joining the Osaka University several times thanks to grants he received during the years, in particular: in 2009, during his Ph.D.; in 2011-2012, thanks to the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS Short Term Fellowship); in 2013, thanks to the Japanese National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT). He was Post-Doc research fellow at  the Intelligent Autonomous Systems Laboratory, at the University of Padova (2010-2011), and at Sorbonne University (formerly Pierre and Marie Curie University) in Paris, working with Prof. M. Chetouani in the Institute for Intelligent Systems and Robotics (2012-2015). In 2015, he joined the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service of Pitié-Salpêtrière Medical Hospital directed by Prof. D. Cohen focusing his works in robotics for children with neurodevelopmental disorders. Since 2019 is coordinator of the French-Swiss project iReCheck, funded by the French National Agency for Research (ANR) and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNS).

Luca Buoncompagni – Universita’ degli Studi di Genova, Italy – Luca Buoncompagni is a postdoc of the Department of Computer Science, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering (DIBRIS) at the University of Genoa, Italy. He received the PhD degree in Robotics and Autonomous Systems at the University of Genoa, where he had research and teaching experiences. His research interests concern Human-Robot Interaction and knowledge representation involving learning from human demonstrations. He had experience in Description Logic and formal representations also for smart environments.

Alberto Castellini – Universita’ di Verona, Italy – Alberto Castellini is assistant professor at the University of Verona, computer science department. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Verona and had research and teaching experiences at both University of Verona and Potsdam University/Max Planck Institute in Potsdam, Germany. His research interests are related to artificial intelligence, statistical learning, predictive modeling of complex systems and computational data analysis.

Alberto Finzi – University of Naples “Federico II”, Italy – Alberto Finzi is Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy. He received the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from the Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy. He was Fulbright Visiting Scholar at NASA Ames Research Center, postdoctoral research activity was also carried out at Sapienza University of Rome and TU Wien. He has been recently involved in several research projects sponsored by the European Community, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the European Space Agency, the Italian Space Agency, FWF (Austrian Science Fund), the Italian Ministry for University and Research, and private industries. His current research interests include cognitive robotics, human–robot interaction, social robotics, executive and cognitive control, autonomous and adaptive systems, planning and scheduling systems, multiagent systems, and formal methods for autonomous systems.
